thank you!

The lovely Jenn has just made my week by mailing me these darling items for a wedding album. I know Jenn from AMR and she is a true sweetheart. She sent me a message a few days ago asking if I'd be interested in some weddings things. I should have known that they'd be adorable! And on top of the goodies, she even made an adorable card to go with it! There was also these emroidered ribons in the package that have sayings on them, like "forever in love" and "the love of my life", but I sorta left those out of the picture. Oops! Either way, THANK YOU JENN! I love all of the goodies and you are so sweet for thinking of this blushing bride to be!

flat ware

While on spring break, my family and I went to visit my grandparents. While visiting my grandmother dragged my mom and I down to her basement where she showed us some beautiful china that was given to her by a friend. Apparently her friend had another friend who recently passed away. The woman didn't have any family and the china did not have a home. Somehow it ended up in grandmother's basement, homeless. Thankfully, I was willing to help out and give it a new home! And the crazy thing is, after bringing it home, my mom and I looked it up online and found out that it's worth way more money than we expected. We told my grandparents and my grandfather thinks he should get it back now. Says he could use it to make some money on ebay...which is funny, because last time I checked, my grandfather can barely check his email. Good thing he was kidding. It's already found a new home!

some LO's

I have thoroughly enjoyed having this week off in honor of spring break. I haven't done as much scrapping as I had planned, but it's been a relaxing week and that's what really matters!

Here are some of the LO's I have worked on this week.
I am especially proud of this last one. It's not my style at all, but I love the way it turned out. All the bright colors and the messiness...it's not me. And in reality, it's not even that "messy". But coming from a girl who likes clean lines and solids, this crazy LO is a bit different for me.

Also got this yesterday! It's the 12 x 12 cloth AC album. This is my first 3 ring album, but I am already loving it. It's different from post bound, and bigger than I expected. But I am a fan!
Hope you all have nice weather where you are! I am loving the 80 degrees we've got today!

you make my day

The lovely Jenn awarded me with this honor. Now it's my turn to pass it on to 10 people whose blogs inspire me and make my day! Here are the rules I copied from Jenn's blog:
The rules for the *you make my day award* are to re-present it to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blog land. let them know through email or by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. beware you may get the award several times yourself, and if you do, consider yourself really, really loved.

Here are my picks:
Paige, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Beth, Heather, Nicole, Michelle, GiGi, Anne-Camille, Angie

spring has sprung

Happy first day of spring! Took this pretty picture today, mainly as a little reminder that spring is here, and it's in full bloom. And on to even more exciting news, it was my last day with the kids today! I have to go in tomorrow, but without the kiddies. Sweatpants and TV while tying up lose ends from this quarter...I can handle that!

Really looking forward to our "final" episode of LOST tonight! My mom sent me this great LOST link today. It's a crazy, twisted theory on the show, and it will most likely confuse you even more (as if that's possible!). Take a look, though. It's pretty cool. I don't know how people come up with this stuff.

Finally, just want to send a big thanks to Stacey at AMR for my great RAK from her store! I got some awesome goodies in there! Thank you!

green mondays

Mondays are usually my least favorite day of the week, but today was actually a decent day. It might have something to do with the fact that I requested to have tomorrow off for a doctor's appointment, which made my whole day just a little bit better! It never hurts to have a day off in the middle of a work week. And on top of that, Thursday is our last day with the kids. Friday is a work day and then it's spring break!

Is the weather warming up where you are? I am loving the little peeks of spring we've been seeing! Took the dog for a walk tonight, and even though it was a bit chilly, it was still nice being able to walk her in the evening not all bundled up in hats and scarves.

Hope you've had a very green St. Patrick's Day!

3 things

Three things that have me feeling really happy right now:
  1. Reese Pieces...only took 3 days to eat a 1 pound bag. Oops?
  2. These adorable epoxy stickers I found at the Dollar Tree! I buy lots of things for school at the Dollar Tree, and while picking up some things the other night I found these. Not sure what I am gonna do with 'em, but I love the bright colors!
  3. My AMR March kit that came in the mail yesterday! So many awesome goodies in there. I think my favorite part has to be the gorgeous assortment of ribbon in here. Can't wait to put it all into good use!

how romantic is that?

Tonight during premarital counseling, the pastor shared this song with us. He pulled out his iPhone and gave us a quick glimpse, and then sent us home to check it out ourselves. It's truly a beautiful song that says a lot about what marriage is. The more I think about getting married, the more reality sets in. That's not to say I am afraid of the reality, but more that I am willing to spend my life with someone, despite all the reasons not to get married.

136 days 'till the wedding!

tomatoes, cheese, and mac

Since I was a little girl, I have always loved ketchup on my mac & cheese. A little strange, but it's my favorite. And I only eat homemade mac & cheese. None of that box junk for me. Most my life I have always gotten weird looks from others when they see me pour my ketchup on my mac & cheese, so that's why I was so happy when I found this great recipe a year ago that combines tomato soup into the mac & cheese. No more weird looks. And those who laughed before, actually like this combination. There have been willing taste testers! So, if you and your little ones or you and your friends enjoy some good mac & cheese, please try out my version, I think you'd like it.

Ingredients:
1 pound macaroni
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 1/4 cups milk
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
8 tablespoons butter, divided
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Pour in pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
2. In large bowl, combine macaroni, soup, milk, cheese and 6 tablespoons butter. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Top with bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
3. Enjoy with friends and family :)

so much productivity!

I awoke to a rainy morning yesterday and left around 11 for an appointment. When I finished with my appointment around 12:30, I headed for All About Scrapbooks for their pajama crop. I recenetly found this store and I've been wanting to go to a local crop, so I was pleased to find a day that worked for me. It was a small group of ladies, but they were all so sweet. I already wrote about this on the AMR board, but I found it so funny when one lady asked me, "What do you scrap?" When I told her I mostly scrap things about me, my dog, my friends, she was just dumbfounded. She had never heard of anyone who scrapped something other than their children. I got a good laugh out of it.

Anyways...got 9 LO's done!! It was such a productive day!! I had printed pictures at Wal-Greens and my goal was to get half the pictures scrapped yesterday. I now only have 2 sets of pictures left. I went way above my half way goal!

spring is near!

We had a huge storm last night. The rain woke me up several times...well that and wind and my window which likes to rattle! As I got up this morning I was expecting more gray skies, but instead I woke to a gorgeous morning. The sky was blue, birds were chirping, and everything smelled fresh. Spring is very near and I love it.

Got tagged by Deb...

7 Random Pieces About Me:
  1. I have very little cartilage in my nose.
  2. For 2 years of college, I lived in an old house with 7 other girls.
  3. I am a Sharpie collector.
  4. I totally freak out when I see worms on the sidewalk. I have a horrible fear of worms. They make me sick to think about.
  5. When I was a kid, my best friend and I used to print "flyers" on her parents apple computer that would say things like "Save the Whales!" and "Stay in School". And then we'd color pictures on them, get on our bikes, and put them in everyones' mailbox in the neighborhood.
  6. Besides Harry Potter 7, the best book I've read in the past year was The Time Traveler's Wife. Wonderful love story.
  7. Cilantro belongs in every dish.
Not tagging anyone, but feel free to tag yourself :)

In other exciting news, I won an RAK at AMR last night for their weekly scrap chat hour!! Every week they host a chat hour on the message board and the person whose note generates the most responses in an hour wins the RAK!! Last night was my first chat hour and I had 18 responses to my question: what are you afraid to try in your scrapbooking? I was not expecting any prize, just looking for some nice chat, but I was excited that I could spark such great conversations!

And speaking of AMR, just ordered my March kit tonight! Cannot wait to get it. The gorgeous sneak peeks are making me anxious to get it!

leap

Yesterday was Leap Day. I look forward to this day every 4 years, mostly because I feel like I have an extra day. It's an extra day to do whatever it is that makes me happy. So what did I do? I enjoyed a great dinner out (mexican and margaritas!) and spending time with someone I love. I realize it's just another day, but a piece of me likes knowing that I won't get it again for 4 years. What did you do to make your extra day special?

Lots to do this weekend. Some cleaning, some scrapping, a lot of laundry, and a lot of paperwork for school. Before I get busy with it all, I am enjoying a cup of tea and I am just soaking up my lazy Saturday morning.
