Fictonal Friday: Part 2

Another Friday means another blog post of my fictional crushes...

I must start by saying that I agree 100% that The Office has jumped the shark. They could have ended about 2 seasons ago and all would have been well. While there have been some great episodes in the past year or two (the wedding, the baby episode), it's mostly been silly. But with all that said, I still watch it. It still has it's funny moments and I just can't seem to quit.

BUT...let's go back to a place in time when it was new and the jokes were all still funny. Back in season 2, I was madly in love with this guy....

Jim Halpert

Is it possible to watch this show and not have a crush on this very average guy? Especially when he spends most episodes making this face:

Back in seasons 2 and 3, I lived for the drama of Jim and Pam (or we could just call them PB&J). Back when both of them had awful hairdo's and they were so awkwardly cute around one another.

My very favorite Jim moment was the Christmas episode of season 2. When Jim bought Pam a teapot and filled it with things that represented their inside jokes. Oh good gracious people. I could watch this episode every day and never tire from it.

And in addition to Jim, I wouldn't mind hanging out with Kelly Kapoor for a day or two. She makes me laugh more than any of the other gals on this show...

Any other loyal fans of The Office? Any of you also have a crush on Jim?

  1. Rachel, I am so with you! The Office now is bo-ring but a few years ago it was the most exciting thing on tv! I love Jim! That episode with the Yankee Swap was hilarious and I was so upset when Pam at first didn't get her teapot. What a sweet story line that was.

  2. We have been watching The Office via Netflix instant. We didn't start watching it when it first came out, but I'm so glad it's on Netflix. We are loving it.

  3. Gah! I love Kelly too. My favorite episode is the one where they are trying to lose weight and she eats the fake tapeworm and is on a lemon juice diet. Ohmygod I die everytime.

  4. we LOVE the office, but I agree, it has not been as great the last two seasons. Ohhh the Jim & Pam romance was the best ever- my favorite episode is the Casino Night when he tells her he's been in love with her and they kiss!! Loved it.

  5. I love the Office! And John K still tops my "Five" list b/c of Jim... adore.

I am also fond of saying "Fashion Show, Fashion Show, Fashion Show at Lunch!" a la Kelly Kapur!

  7. Love the Office! I'm worried that after Steve Carrell leaves it won't be nearly as good!

  8. I think the real question is, are there any females out there that watch the office and don't have a crush on Jim? I agree with you though- while I still love the Office, season 2 was the best. The jokes were funnier, the pranks were better (and more frequent!), and the Jim and Pam dynamic couldn't be beat.

Also, had to say that I stalked your comments on the post below- being that I've been engaged for less than 2 months, my ring is still pretty shiny, but I'm going to have to clean it eventually and have been wondering what my best bet it.

  9. I've never really watched the American version of The Office. I was a big fan of the British one - so hilarious!! I keep meaning to watch old episodes on Netflix!

  11. I love Jim. Everytime my husband catches me watching the show and smiling about something "Pam and Jim" he says "you know they aren't real".

  12. I loooooove me some Jim. I feel like the series has been hit or miss lately, but last night's episode was awesome. I don't know how they'll survive w/out Michael Scott though!

  13. I'm absolutely in love with Jim. And I stopped watching a few seasons ago when it got strange, but I own seasons 1-2 (or maybe 1-3??) and love them so much.
