Revenge Questions

Like many of you, Wednesday is now one of my favorite days of the week since I have Revenge to look forward to on TV.  This show is my newest guilty pleasure, and I am fully sucked into all the drama!

BUT....there are two things about this show that drive me crazy, and I just have to ask if anyone else feels the same way.

1.) How is Emily's childhood dog, Sammie, still alive? I am guessing she's about 10 in the flashbacks and around 25-30 now?  There's no way this dog is still alive and acting like a puppy. Anyone else pick up on this?

2.) I find it really odd that no one recognizes her from her childhood. All of the people she is interacting with knew her as a little girl. How has no one caught on as to who she is?

I know, I know. It's just a TV show, but these two things have been bugging me. My mom watched the show, too, and we were talking about these things just the other day. I began to wonder if the rest of you had picked up on it, too.

Thoughts?

  1. HAHA!!! I never thought about the dog, lol!!

And totally agree with you, even if her hair color is different, you'd think people would recognize the face, you know??????

  2. I was thinking the same thing about Sammie. He must be really old. From what I remember the trial was in 1995, so he is at least 17 years old. It also doesn't really make sense to me that Victoria didn't keep track of Amanda as she grew up. I think you just have to suspend disbelief and enjoy the show even though the whole premise is completely ridiculous. On a side note, I am always complaining to my boyfriend that things on tv aren't believable and he just rolls his eyes at me!

  3. Ive definitely been thinking the same thing! In my head there is at least a 15 year time difference, so it seems a little odd. I also think it's weird that Jack named his boat Amanda. Yes they were friends, but they were kids, it seems odd that he loved her enough to name his boat after her, but doesn't even recognize her now??

  4. I never thought about Sammie's age- but you are so right! As far as number 2, that is wierd too but maybe her money throws them off?

  5. I don't know, but I LOVE this show and I now look foward to Wednesday. It is so good and I am not really sure how long this plot can last- but I am hooked!

  6. I love this show! Look forward to it every week! Thats so fun that your mom watches it as well! Well Im not sure about the dog being alive but she did get close with that picture as her as the waitress at a party but that was caught so we will see I don't know how much that blonde hair can make her face look different lol

  7. I've was wondering the same thing about Sammie. It definitely doesn't make any sense and has been bugging me as well (even though I'm still completely obsessed with the show).

I'm with California Wife about the boat name and it definitely seems strange that no one recognizes her at all.

Again, it's just a TV show, but these are some of the things I think about too.

  8. I say something about Sammy every time the show comes on. I get all "the life expectancy of a lab is only.." and then make my husband crazy, but come on! Dogs don't live that long! They should have made Sammy a cat. Way more believable.

I still recognize 90% of the people from my childhood. I so would have busted her out by now.

  9. So happy to read this post! My husband and I are fully addicted to Revenge and Wednesday is quickly becoming our favorite night of the week! We've wondered about Sammie before and thought it was kind of odd that the dog is still alive AND really active. I'm not sure how that works...also, about nobody recognizing her -- I think tonight's episode is when Jack recognizes her! In episode 1 he was involved in the shooting with Daniel, so I'm thinking he figures it out and decides to help her! AH! Guess we'll find out soon enough! :)

  10. HAHA I have thought similar thoughts... I'm surprised she hadn't kept up with "Emily" since she loved her dad so much and still thinks of him. Weird. I would've put two and two together already!!

Not to mention the fact that her house seems to always been unlocked or the door open....with her secret box and computer right there!!

BUT I still watch every week because I am addicted!

  11. I think Sammie is just another yellow lab that the hunky dude got because it reminds him of Amanda? That's my guess!

I think she looks so different than when she was taken away - because she was like 8 or something, I think. I know, for me, if people hadn't seen me since I was 8 there would be no way they'd recognize me!

    But I don't know, that's all just a guess!!

Question for you - on the first episode, the guy who dragged Daniel's body away...who was that? Do we know yet?

  12. There's definitely been some snickering online about the Sammy plotline... because c'mon, REALLY?! Maybe Amber Valleta seeing her in the background of that photo will be the beginning of some other "sightings." LOVE this trash tv!

  13. The dog thing really has bothered me. But I figure an experience like that one changes people, so the whole "why has no one noticed?" thing was only a fleeting question for me.

    I freaking love that show.

  14. I am obsessed with Revenge! I've had these same questions too. There are some aspects of the show that are a little far-fetched, but I keep watching!

  15. So I just watched last night for the first time and I thought both of these things. I thought long and hard about the part that people don't recognize her. I look EXACTLY the same as I did when I was a child so I know people would recognize me. I will keep that noted - I cannot seek revenge against people form my childhood.

  16. YES! I have wondered about the dog's age from the very beginning. I can't help but love the show, though. Nick may even be hooked. Ha.
