Colorado Ranch Wedding

This past Saturday we had the privilege to attend the wedding one of my very good friends from high school. Evan and I met in high school when we were both cast of the munchkin coroners in our school's production of The Wizard of Oz.  Two very important roles in this show! We also were in show choir and then later attended JMU together. He's one of those friends who lives far away from me now, and we don't talk much, but our friendship hasn't changed. I am so glad that J and I got to be there for his big day!

His beautiful bride, Becca, grew up living all over the world, as her dad is a Colonel in the Air Force. Her parents now live near Colorado Springs and the wedding was in Larkspur, CO at a gorgeous ranch. The weather all weekend was pretty cold, cloudy, and rainy. Lucky for them though, the sun came out long enough for their outdoor ceremony. It was perfect!

I loved that they used their initials in so many parts of their wedding.
"BE" was a major part of their decor and their invtiations.

Seriously...it was such a beautiful ceremony. The theme was "home" and everything from the music to the message was perfect.  And the couple...could they look any more happy in these photos?

The reception started with a cocktail hour where they served local craft beers in mason jars. LOVE this!

They also served an array of h'ordeuvres that represented the places that were special to them. Virginia ham on corn bread for Evan's home state, buffalo meat for Colorado, and Chicago style hotdogs for the couple's current home. What a neat way to tie all of their "homes" into the cocktail hour.

This was our table at dinner. The centerpieces were rustic and simple. Loved it!

This would be the cake table. Evan's mother and grandmother made the cakes (which were delicious..btw!) and Evan's groom's cake was "cheese" cake.

Me and the groom

And me and my handsome date by the fire! We didn't do much dancing since poor J is still pretty injured with his torn ACL. He actually scheduled surgery this morning...our summer is going to be extra busy now before this baby comes!

We did a lot of sight seeing while we were in Colorado. This was our first time there, so we had lots we wanted to see! I'll do another post on our sight seeing!
