on our own

Maggie's face pretty much says it all.
This is how we felt most of the weekend after my mom left us to go back to Virginia.

A lot of tears were shed when she left.

Today is my first day on my own with her.
We're going to go by her dad's office to show her off to his coworkers,
and maybe a trip to Starbucks together for a drink in the famous red cup.

Here's hoping our first day on our own is a successful one!

  1. Good luck! I remember crying the first day Jeff had to go back to work. Mainly because I was a crazy hormonal mess and I was sad that he would be missing stuff Landon did because he was gone. You will definitely always have days where you cannot wait to hand the baby off to your husband the second he walks in the door, but you will get into a routine and it's really awesome :)

I see so many new moms at Starbucks who say they go every day as their little outing. I do it all the time too hahaha

  2. Good luck! Our first solo week was rough, but each week thereafter has been a little easier. Enjoy your red cup! ;) xo

  4. You'll do a great job by yourself! There are moments (or there were for me) where it's tough, but then, when you're doing it, you kind of feel really amazing :) Because you are!

  5. Good luck. You can do it! :) Starbucks drive-thru has really saved me after having the little ones, it is hard to carry the baby, hold the preschoolers hand and balance a hot drink with out scalding anyone :)

  6. You'll be fine! (as I type this, I have to remind myself that I, too, will also be fine when we make a trip out to the pediatrician later this week!! Ha!)

  9. Enjoy it! Tomorrow morning you'll be sending her off to kindergarden. Someone told me that when my little girl was born and I thought they were nuts - but they were so right. My baby is now in kindergarden. It's fun to watch her grow, but I still miss those long, quiet days, just her and I. I'm glad I savored every minute.
