Weekend Wrap-up!

It's been such a fun weekend in our home! The past three weekends have been jam packed, and we've either been out of town or had guests in town. This weekend it was just the three of us, and we stayed busy having fun around town.

On Saturday, we attended a picnic/game watch for my alumni association here in town. While my beloved Duke Dogs didn't do so well against UNH, we still had fun eating and catching up with some fellow Dukes who live in Charlotte. There was also a moon bounce, so M got to experience the thrill of that for the first time. She was an instant fan! However, she was not a fan of the camera as you can see below!

And then today (Sunday), after her morning nap, that she pretty much skipped, we drove just a little north of the city and went to the Rural Hill Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival. A whole festival JUST for dogs! Our little  dog loving family was in heaven!

There was sheep herding with border collies who had come from all over to compete (which obviously made me think of Babe: The Gallant Pig), Dock Dogs (dogs who were competing for retrieving items in a pool based on distance and time), the new dog sport Treibball, a dog agility course, hayrides, lots of food, a pumpkin slingshot thing....it was seriously the perfect family outing for a beautiful fall day! You could also bring your own dogs for the fun, BUT Rosie is giant and pulls everywhere we go, and Layla tends to be a major pain in public, so sadly, our two dogs did not get to attend the dog festival.

Here's some of the dock dogs in action...

M enjoyed sitting on the grass watching the agility competition and cheering for the dogs playing Treibball....

Some of the sheep....

This girl...always into SOMETHING.

Such a fun Sunday!
